The mechanics and plays

Chicago Bears -5.5 vs Detroit Lions

Dallas Cowboys -6.5 vs Buffalo Bills

Atlanta Falcons/New Orleans Saints over 49

Coop’s Plays

Chicago Bears -5.5 vs Detroit Lions

This game is one of those games that just feels like football. When I see the lions uniforms on thanksgiving I know they are in for a rude awakening. The bears defense will be feasting on the Lions QB David Blough?!? Who!?!? I drafted QB will be like a turkey today. Stuffed and devoured. Take the Bears and watch as they cover this spread like how gravy covers mashed potatoes.

Dallas Cowboys -6.5 vs Buffalo Bills

America’s team playing on one of the greatest American holidays. After harsh criticism from jerry Jones the lions should come out and smoke the Bills today. Take the Boys to cover and watch as the cowboys show why they have the top offense in the league

New Orleans Saints -7 vs Atlanta Falcons

The falcons get the better of the Saints last time these two teams played in New Orleans. I see the Saints coming out hot. I think it will be a tight game but in the end I think that the Saints will be able to cover on the road. Trust in Drew Brees and Sean Payton!!!

The Professor Plays

Thanksgiving Day picks by the Professor

Detroit Lions +4.5 vs. Chicago Bears

This is going to be an ugly game. Both teams are sitting in the basement of the NFC North so the battle is to see who claims the bottom at the end of the season. Matthew Stafford is out and Jeff Driskel is not ready to be Stafford’s replacement.  Driskel has 59.0 (%) completion rate, 6.5 Y/A, 4 TDs, 4INTs, and a miserable 75.3 passer rating in three (3) starts. The Lion’s run offense (27th) against the Bears run defense (12th) doesn’t help either. The Bears have pass offense (24th) against the Lion’s pass defense (24th). The Bears run offense (31st) is awful and hardly overmatched by the Lions run defense (20th).  Something tells me that the numbers will not help the Bears to cover the point spread as it will be a sloppy game that should be watched prior to filling your belly with all the good fixins for Thanksgiving Day. Take the Lions +4.5 and hope you can have better digestion in the two later games.

Buffalo Bills +6.5 vs. Dallas Cowboys

This will be the game of the day as excitement builds up between the Dallas Cowboys (6-5) sitting at the top of a very weak division and the Buffalo Bills (8-3) chasing the Patriots and some playoff spot.  The Bills will try to show everyone that they are contenders and able to play in Jerry’s World against a team with several superstars. The game will be closer than many think. The Cowboys are in a do or die situation, especially for their Coach Jason Garrett, and must win or owner Jerry Jones will be bringing out the broom for some spring-cleaning. That will be the motivating factor to bring out the best in the Cowboys.  The Bills will be playing in prime time with all of America watching them. Will they be up to the task? Let’s look at some stats: Total Offense- Bills (352.7 yards- 18th) and Cowboys (433.4- 1st.). Total Defense – Bills (288.6 yards- 3rd) and Cowboys (318.5- 6th). Points allowed – Bills (15.7 – 3rd) and Cowboys (19.1- 6th) As you can see they are evenly matched yet the Cowboys have Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliott with many others to attack on the field. The Cowboys may win but it will be close.  Take the Bills +6.5!!! and digest that Turkey while watching a great game.

New Orleans Saints/ Atlanta Falcons Over 48.5

This is a tough one to call. Two great quarterbacks Drew Brees and Matt Ryan airing it out on the last game of Thanksgiving.  New Orleans is looking to clinch or solidify it grip on the NFC South and Atlanta trying to make sense of their crazy year. It is usually a high scoring game when you get these quarterbacks together and I don’t think it will be anything different on Turkey Day. I think the Saints may prove too much for the Falcons in this game. Take the over 48.5 and enjoy the desserts and coffees.

TheLineBreakers week 11/22-11/25 Plays

Coop’s Plays
Penn state vs Ohio state over 59 points

These two teams can score a lot of points, Ohio state can put up 50 no problem without even blinking. Take the over and watch these teams light it up.

LSU vs Arkansas under 70

After seeing what happened to Tua, LSU will have a quick trigger to take out Heismen hopeful Joe Burrows out of the game early LSU will win and win big but the over will not hit.

Michigan vs Indiana under 53.5

These teams have both shown that they can play defense, both averaging under 18 points we game on defense. Look for this game t be a grind fest. Take the under and watch a good ole fashion trench battle.

Utah vs Arizona under 57.5 points

These pac-12 teams are known for not having any defense. Utah says hold my beer bro, they are only giving up 11 points per game, that is good enough for 4th in the country. They will be able to stop any type of offense

that the wildcats try and muster. Take the under and watch as Utah thwarts Arizona.

Wake Forest -7 vs Duke

A wake is coming over the ACC and it is the color of black and yellow. Wake Forest has shown so much promise this year and it is a hope that maybe they can compete with Clemson in a couple years. They average over 32 points per game and they are looking to cap off a great season with a senior night against Duke. Always an emotional night for seniors and that will get them started. Take wake Forest to cover 7 and let’s keep this hotstreak going.

NFL
Falcons -4 vs Tampa bay

The Falcons are in sync right now as a team and playing at home vs a division rival just smells like a great game by the dirty birds. Take hot-lanta and watch them win by more than 4 points against a defeated Bucs team.

Seattle Seahawks +1 vs Eagles

Russell Wilson could very well win MVP but he will Win this game on the road in philly. He is as elusive as they come and Seattle always has a chance as long as he is healthy and scrambling. Take Seattle and watch as they come into philly and win!!!

EXTRA CREDIT FROM THE PROFESSOR!!! Holy Cross- Moneyline
Penn State v Ohio State Over 57.5 Appalachian State Over 50

The Mechanic’s Plays

Bengals +6.5 v. Steelers

The Bengals and Steelers have had some of the most knock down bouts over the years in this old-time rivalry. Even when the Bengals have been lousy, which certainly applies to this season, as they are 0-10, they will most likely put up a fight against the 5-5 Steelers. The Steelers will likely suffer from the distractions from last week’s nonsense leading to varioussuspensions. Injuries and lost players should further weaken a mediocre Pittsburgh team that only posted 7 points against the Browns last week.

Giants v. Bears Under 40.5
Giants offensive line can’t protect a turnover prone QB Daniel Jones and the Bears’ D is their strength. Couple that with the Bears benching their struggling QB and it looks like points might be scarce in this battle of bad teams in Chicago.

Cowboys v. Pats Under 46

The Cowboys’ head coach will be feeling the heat as rumors abound that he must go far in the playoffs this year to keep his job. Couple that with the fact that almost no one wins in Foxboro and with a defense that only once has given up any significant points, and I see a tight Dallas team. I like the Pats to keep the scoring down, taking away the deep ball and making Dallas run the ball. On the other side of the ball, even Brady admits that Pats offense is not good, with Edelman tossing their only passing TD versus the Eagles in last week’s 17-10 win.

Seahawks +2 v. Eagles

I just don’t think the Eagles are as good Vegas does and I see the Hawks actually winning this game. The Eagles have no speed on offense and are banged up in several key positions. Wentz has not looked good recently and quite often looks confused; perhaps because no one is open. With the 9ers still in the lead, I don’t think coach Carroll will let his team overlook the Eagles. Wilson is still in the MVP discussion and I look for him to stay there after a road win Sunday.

Lions -3.5 v. Redskins
The Lions put up a good fight last week with backup QB Driskel performing better than I expected against the Cowboys. On the other hand, the Skins are horrible and quite possibly the worst team in the NFL. Washington has no bright spots and no reason to show up for the rest of the year. Although the Lions are 3-6-1, they at least look like they’re really trying to win. The Skins on the other hand have been blown out repeatedly and I look for them to put up very few points against Detroit.

Top Picks November 15, 2019

Top Picks

November 15 2019

NFL and College football for 11/15-11/18 Coop’s college plays
1. Georgia Bulldogs -2.5 vs Auburn Tigers

Georgia has just recently been promoted to the top 4 of the playoff rankings. Now they face an Auburn team that is very young across the board. Jr WB Jake Fromm is ready to take his moment and take his team to the college football playoff. Winning this game is just a stepping stone but it must be taken to get to the ultimate goal. Take the Bulldogs and watch as they cover this game for you!!!!

2. Notre Dame -7.5 vs Navy

Navy has cracked the top 25, it always amazes me when army or navy get in the top 25. They run a very unique style of offense and a team of Notre Dames caliber should handle them no problem. They take this game easy in South Bend and continue the heater on I am!!

3. Iowa Hawkeyes vs Minnesota under 44.5

Both of these teams know how to play in cold weather conditions, this game will be in freezing temperatures at kickoff and will slow down the game by a lot. We see this as a close game with a lot of punts. Take the under and LFG!!!

4. Appalachian State -16.5 vs Georgia State

Appalachian state is a team that is known for their historic victory but they come into this game as a top dog especially in their conference. Georgia

state knows how to score but they have no defense, after a while they will make mistakes on offense and App State will take advantage and cover the spread!!

5. Alabama vs Mississippi state over 61

Alabama’s offense is a force to be wrecked with. They are 3rd in college football in points per game and they are looking to take that nearly 50 points per game average and crushing this over on Saturday LFG, take the over and watch as this game hits it with ease.

The Mechanics plays Raiders -10.5 v. Bengals

The Bengals have shown no interest in winning recently, just last week losing by

36 points at home! On the road, I doubt they will show up against a resurgent

Raiders team that are now in a playoff hunt. Carr and company are looking like

they’re on the same page now and the defense is starting to show some

cohesion. With Bengals’ sights now firmly set on the number one draft pick, I

expect a lackluster performance from the only winless team in the NFL. I know

It’s a lot of points, but I don’t think it will be close. Chiefs v. Chargers Over 52

Both teams can put up a lot of points and both can give up a lot. The Chiefs

were in a 67 point shootout last week, giving up 35 to a mediocre Titans team.

The Chargers still have hopes of making the playoffs and Rivers is always

capable of lighting up the scoreboard. Same goes for the Chiefs; especially if

Mahomes plays. Both teams have been inconsistent, which is why I not picking

either one to win, but I believe there is a good chance this is a high scoring affair.

Cowboys -3.5 v. Lions
The Cowboys lost at home last week in a game they should have won. Some

bad play calling was to blame and against a Lions team that couldn’t beat a bad

Bears team last week, the Boys should get back on the winning track. After a

stinker versus the Jets, Dallas bounced back to easily beat the Eagles and Giants.

I see a similar effort this Sunday and think they win this one going away. Texans v Ravens Over 49.5

I see both offenses putting up a lot of points. Both teams can score at will but

they both often give up a lot. They are also both on top of their divisions

and

will have no chance of not putting up points to stay there. Only question is

which defense will show up. Only if they both do could this not be an over.

Dolphins +6 v. Bills

The Dolphins have covered 5 in a row after a miserable start to the season.

Getting 10 last week on the road they beat the Colts outright. The disrespect

from Vegas continues with them getting almost a touchdown at home against a

division rival. I am going to continue to ride the Fish until they give me a reason

to stop. The Bills have come back to earth and lost to the Browns last week.

Last month, the Fish covered the points in Buffalo and I look for them to keep

this close Sunday in Miami. The Professors picks

Linebreakers sports handicapping

Coop the Mechanic and the professor are back and they talk the NFL or is it the WWF with Myles Garret’s helmet assault. The Linebreakers went 7-3 in college football last week. Go to www.thelinebreakers.com and see what our team picked and why they picked them. We are red hot and you need to hope on now!

THURSDAY NIGHT FELONY and

SO MUCH FOR “TANKING FOR TUA”

I’ve watched a lot of football and I’ve seen some outrageous behavior on the field, but I’ve never seen an assault with an opposing player’s own helmet to the head!  I’m certain that if that attack by Myles Garrett upon Mason Rudolph took place in Pittsburgh, Garrett would have been charged with felony assault.  Shortly after it was announced that he would receive an indefinite suspension Garrett was complaining that the penalty was too harsh.  He’s lucky he didn’t seriously injure Rudolph or worse; especially in light of the fact that Rudolph just recently suffered a concussion.   Just another reason to dislike the Browns, not that I needed one.

With Bama QB Tua Tagovailoa suffering the same injury that ended Bo Jackson’s career, and undergoing his third surgery while still in college, the “Tanking for Tua” is now a defunct proposition.  Not to mention that LSU quarterback has jumped to the front of the pack in most rankings.  Tua’s injury has also sparked all the chatter about college athletes’ needing to be paid for their services.

The Vikings did something that hadn’t been done in the previous 99 times a team was down by 20 points at the half,…. they won 27-23 versus the Broncos to improve to 8-3.  As we get into late November the playoff picture is starting to take shape and the Vikes are definitely in the picture.  It’s now that speculation on how teams will do with their remaining 5 or 6 games and where they might finish in their division.   Only the Pats, Ravens and Saints appear to have a firm grasp on their respective divisions, with all the rest still up for grabs.

Monday Night Football was actually exciting even though Rivers threw 4 INTs to go with the 3 he threw the week before.  Add to that poor play calling down the stretch and the Bolts almost tied it up at the end.  The game had OT written all over it, until Rivers capped his horrible outing with his fourth pick.  Stick a fork in the Chargers.

ATS update.  There are now only 10 teams that are above 55% ATS which we stated is where you need to be too.  The Bucs continue to hold last place with a pathetic record of 2-8 ATS.  Jameis Winston tossing another 4 INT’s and dropping his team to a 3-7 record has his head coach wishing he had stayed retired.    The Giants, Skins and Bears all suck and are just one game better ATS at 3-7.   Well at least the Giants or Bears will improve as these sad sacks play each other Sunday.    Look at the ATS records and see where you should be putting your money.  Or better yet, visit us at TheLineBreakers.com and get our picks.

Coops Plays college plays***

Fordham Rams/Colgate Raiders under 51.5 points

Both of these programs are having below average seasons and do not have a fire power offense. It is also going to be a chilly day on saturday. Look for the game to be slower than usual and the running game to be in effect for this one.

Wisconsin Badgers/Iowa Hawkeyes over 38.5

Both of these teams are hard nose/battle in the trenches type team but this total is way to low for how effective these teams can be with their running attacks. Johnsathan Taylor is still a force to be reckoned with and he will be a major factor in this game.

LSU +7

This LSU team just feels different. They are usually run by their defense but this year behind the stellar play of heisman front runner Joe Burrows they are an offensive force.

Georgia bulldogs -16.5 va Missouri

Georgia is a team that is out to prove that they are still an elite team. After the new playoff rankings came out this week and they saw themselves on the outside of the top 4. Look out Missouri because you are in for one this week!!!

Stanford -3 vs Colorado

No team in the PAC-12 has shown that they can complete with the rest of the power 5. Stanford is a team however that will win you tough games on the road with their pro style offense. Play Stanford and watch as they cash you this ticket!!!

Dallas Cowboys -3

The Vikings have to go and play in Jerry’s world on Sunday night. Kirk Cousins is known for not showing up in big games and letting the team down. I see this as a game that will get out of hand towards the end of the 3rd. Play the Cowboys and ride off into the sunset!!!

Lions +2.5

The lions have had some tough breaks this year but one thing is for certain, they are not afraid to go for the deep ball. Chicago’s defense is still amount top in the league but their offense has not shown anything explosive this year when it matters. Look for another trubisky disaster game. Play the Lions and collect this week!!

Giants -2.5

As the “road” favorite on Sunday, the giants will be looking to prove that they are still the team to beat in NY(NJ).

Seahawks +6.5

The Mechanic’s plays!!!

  1. Rams – 3.5 v Steelers

After a surprising three week slide the Rams have now won two in a row and should be able to handle the Steelers who are reduced to using Mason Rudolph, their third string QB.  The Steelers struggled early against the Dolphins and just got past the Colts who are also down to their third stringer at QB. So I see the Rams having no trouble covering the spread.

  1. Seahawks +6 v. 49ers

After a thrilling OT win last week against the Bucs the Seahawks should be eager to put up a great effort against their division leading rival and only undefeated team left in the NFL.  A win here and the Hawks cut the lead in half to just one game. I don’t see the 9ers going undefeated and I think this could be the game they come back to earth. Even if Seattle can’t pull off the upset, I think they can keep it close as Russell Wilson has more late game theatrics than almost anyone.

  1. Packers -5 v. Panthers

The Packers had an inexplicably bad and un-Rodgers like performance last week against Chargers.  They scored only 11 points and Rodgers as well as the rest of his team looked lost. I think that was an aberration and that the Pack gets back on track at home against Carolina.  Newton is out for the year and will likely never play for the Panthers again. If they can keep McCaffrey to under 100 yards the Packers should cover. It’s going to be very cold and I expect that Green Bay is better equipped to deal with temperatures well below freezing.

  1. Dolphins +10 v. Colts

The Dolphins have shown that despite the consensus being that they are tanking for Tua, this team has shown some spirit and pride in the past four weeks, covering each game and even winning last week against the Jets.  Their last blowout was in September and they are actually playing tough. The Colts are another team down to their third string QB, so I think this game will be closer than 10 points. Even if Brissett does start, I think he’ll be gimpy and that will effect his performance.

  1. Cowboys -3 v. Vikes

I’m not sure why the Boys are only a 3 point favorite, which is basically home-field advantage, against Vikes who fell to a Mahomes-less Chiefs last week.  The Cowboys look like that loss to the Jets really got them focused as they went on to dismantle two division rivals in back to back games since then. With the Eagles on a bye, the Boys can’t afford to lose this game and fall back into a tie in their division.  I believe that Coach Garrett is getting some heat to make a deep run in the playoffs this year or else, and see the Boys staying focused and feeding Elliot the ball a lot. He’s a beast and wears defenses out as he never avoids a chance to deliver a blow to the defender.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE

Week 10 NFL review.

It took us until Week 10 to finally see the last undefeated team go down as the Seahawks defeated the 9ers in a thrilling Monday Night Football affair which ranks amongst the best of them.  This was one of my picks as I believed they were due for a loss and the Hawks looked like a team that could pull it off.  The game had everything you could want, even sub-plots with Richard Sherman now playing against the team he gained his fame with.  We had great defensive efforts from both teams, with both Ds scoring a TD.  Overtime and the extra drama that that brings.  Garoppolo made more than a few bad throws and Wilson did something he never does, he threw a red-zone INT.  Nevertheless, Wilson still leads most early polls for MVP honors.  The Jets beat the Giants in “Toilet Bowl” which the Professor attended.  Shurmur continues to demonstrate that he has no business being a head coach as he makes bad calls, burns all three timeouts way too early and has Barkley carrying 13 times for one yard!  Daniel Jones continues his turnovers with shocking regularity which can also be attributed to poor coaching.

Once again we had some big surprises such as the Cowboys losing at home to the Vikings.  All three of us picked the Cowboys which I said was the kiss of death.  When everyone thinks it’s a lock, it quite often isn’t.  The Vikes have now finally beaten a good team on the road, something they haven’t done much of lately.  Same goes for Saints.  I didn’t see them losing at home to the Falcons and scoring only 9 points in the process.   Conversely, everyone including me picked the Packers to bounce back at home against Carolina.  Winning by 8 while laying 7 caused me to age a bit, as that was the last leg of my 4-team parlay.

Last week I said I didn’t understand why Browns were favored by 3.  Well, they won by 3, so they are now 2-6-1 ATS.  They are playing Thursday night as they host Pittsburgh who have just won 4 in a row after beating the Rams who are a shell of the team that went to the Super Bowl just last February.  Coach Tomlin does some head-scratching things, but after losing his three best players and more to injuries, he’s done an amazing job getting his team to 5-4.  They have a very light schedule ahead but I don’t see them going anywhere in the playoffs.     Come see what we’re picking this week at TheLineBreakers.com., and some bonus picks.

Only 9 teams are above 55% ATS which is were you need to be.  That means if you’re always betting the same teams, unless you’re betting on these 9, you are most likely losing money.  Betting on those other 23 teams is costing you money.  So just look up NFL teams ATS and see where you should be putting your money.  Or better yet, visit us at TheLineBreakers.com and get our picks.

Most bad teams are on the bottom of the ATS standing with the notable exception being the Ravens.  Despite looking great lately and sporting a 7-2 record, they are just 4-5 ATS.  Only team worse than Browns ATS is the Bucs who are 2-7 ATS.   Arizona on the other hand is 7-3 ATS but has only a 3-6-1 record.

Week 9 NFL review

Linebreakers sports handicapping

HOME SWEET HOME, FINALLY!

Coop and The Mechanic are joined by The Professor this week. We talk about the college football playoff rankings and what that means for the rest of the year. We talk week 9 of The NFL and see what happened. Don’t forget to go to www.thelinebreakers.com to see what our team picked for the week of 11/8-11/11

After commenting on the demise of home field advantage only two weeks ago, guess what happened?  Something that’s never happened before…..Every home team won on Sunday and covered the spread!  I couldn’t believe it when I heard that so I had to verify it with my own eyes.  Then as I was on my way to the Cowboys/Giants game Monday night with the Professor we were discussing that stat.  I told him that I hoped that it wouldn’t hold for the upcoming game, as I had the Cowboys as the final leg in my five-team parlay.  So, I hit that, as the Giants were who I thought they were; a crappy team who I swore to never bet on again for the foreseeable future.  Same goes double for the Jets who did the impossible.  They lost to a team who’s trying not to win and made the Dolphins look like a good team in the process.  The Jets will now face the Giants this Sunday in what’s being referred to as the Toilet Bowl.  When the Jets lose, head coach Gase should be fired as the Jets are dead last in all but one category.  All from a supposed offensive guru and quarterback specialist.  I believe the Professor is attending this upcoming shit show, for reasons lost on me.   Sam Darnold is regressing under Gase and might have his future ruined by this moron.  Same goes for Daniel Jones with a horrible Giants coaching staff led by Pat Shurmur.

Some other big surprises were the Packers laying an egg versus the Chargers and scoring only 11 points.  I look for them to bounce back at home against Carolina.  The Pats getting pasted by Ravens and giving up 37 points in the process.  This is a team that was only giving up 7 points per game. I didn’t see that coming and this was my only loss last week. Betting against the Browns and Baker Mayfield has been paying off as they as they are now sporting a 2-6 record  and are 2-6 ATS.  Not sure why they are favored against the Bills this week.   Come see what we’re picking this week at TheLineBreakers.com., and some bonus picks.

Injuries continue to pile up at an alarming rate and now we learn that Cam Newton is done for the year and probable done as a Panther.  Jacoby Brissett was  injured last week too in their loss to the Steelers, as was DeSean Jackson who had season ending surgery Tuesday.

Last week I convinced a friend to take advantage of the bet insurance being offered by FanDuel.  His $500 wager was insured in site credit, so when he bet $500 on Eagles there were no worries.  Now he has $1,000 to play with.  Make sure to shop around for the best offers of matching deposits and reimbursement for lost first plays.  To make your choice easier, go to www.sportsbookreview.com which has ratings and features of all sports betting sites.  Then visit us at TheLineBreakers.com for help making the right picks.  We have free bonus picks added too.

FREE PLAY THURSDAY  is back after I had to take a week off on the disabled list.  I think the play here is taking the over 48.5 in Chargers v. Raiders.  Both teams won last week with offenses that are starting to click.  Raiders put up 31 versus Lions and Chargers 26 against Packers.  I think they might get into a shoot out.

Take a look at TheLineBreakers.com, and subscribe, we have more content and a lower price.

Game of the week could be Vikings v. Cowboys on Sunday night or 9ers v. Seahawks Monday night.  Both stand to be good games.  To see our picks visit TheLineBreakers.com for our very reasonably priced picks.

Other sites charge $40, $50 or more for one pick.  We give you 10-12 picks for half that!  That’s right folks, half that.  We also give you the analysis for each pick, so you can evaluate what we are focusing on and make an informed decision.

College football

Penn State -5.5

We see Penn state steamrolling through eat lancing and coming up big in this game. Michigan State has shown that they do not have the weapons on offense that penn state has. We love penn state tonight.

Texas -1

Texas is on the road this week but that will not stop them from what is inevitable. Sam Ehlinger has been rolling this year even when they have lost games. Their defense will come up big in this game and be able to stop the TCU offense dead in their tracks.

LSU -11

Joe Burrow. That is all. This will be your 2019 Heisman winner. This will be his Hiesman moment. LSU will come out firing and will be able to prevail, This game is in death valley and it is called death valley for a reason. Watch as lsU cashes you this ticket and you grow your bank roll.

Boston college -34

Clemson has not been like the Clemson of old. They have not really been blowing out teams like they have been in the past. Trevor Lawrence has regressed a bit and this team is just asking to lose. Take Boston College and watch as they hold on and cover this game and grow your bank roll.

Notre Dame -1

This has been a wacky football season to say the least and we know that teams have had a tough time covering in key games. We are on Notre Dame train here as they visit Michigan in the big house. The major difference here between the two teams is that Notre Dame’s season is not over yet, but they must win here. Michigan is essentially drawing dead, not having key wins and also losing multiple games. Michigan has had issues scoring against top 25 teams, scoring 21 vs. Penn St. and 10 vs. Iowa. We just don’t see Michigan Keeping pace with Notre Dame and the Irish have proven they are a contender for the final 4. Notre Dame is a top top scoring team and have been in every game they have played this season. With their season on the line, more experienced team, and the better QB they Irish are the right pick in a coin flip. Take Notre Dame here as they go into Michigan and extend their season and chance for the playoffs. We see line makers having this line off by a few. Notre Dame 24-20 Wins.

NFL

colts -5.5 v. Broncos

Head coach Frank Reich should be called the Real QB whisperer for the miracles

he’s performed both as a QB himself in college and the pros and now as the man

behind Jacoby Brissett’s success after being traded away from the Pats. He was

behind Nick Folk when he went on that Super Bowl run. I like the Colts as a very

well rounded team with no real weaknesses. The Colts have the best offensive

line which will give Brissett plenty of time to go deep and Mack is due for

another big day rushing. The Colts have some key players returning and at home

versus an inconsistent Broncos team, I see an easy cover.

Seahawks at Falcons under 53

With the Falcons season essentially over; especially when they traded away

Mohamed Sanu to the Pats this week and QB Ryan injured, I don’t see this as

being a high scoring game. Backup QB Matt Schaub was never any good, which

is why he’s a backup. I think the Seahawks will use the ground game and use up

the clock to coast to an easy, low-scoring win.

Seahawks -3.5 v Falcons

For many of the reasons stated above, I like the Seahawks to dominate and

easily put the Falcons away. The Falcons have the second worst defense in the

League, only the Dolphins are worse, and now without Ryan and Sanu, their

offense will suffer. Even if Ryan plays, he will be less effective on a gimpy ankle,

just see what Mahomes looked like on a bad ankle. I think the Seahawks will

regroup after a tough loss at home to the Ravens and get back on track against a

Falcons team in disarray.

Cleveland Browns +12

There is a lot of sharp money coming in on the Browns and you need to bet this game before it gets too low. The Browns won’t win this game but they will keep it close. The Browns season has not been what the hype was all about, but with the fire inside Bake Mayfield we do think he keeps it competitive as does the Sharp money. The Browns have been a decent team in games on the road, Patriots are set up to take the fall here and not cover. The Patriots are coming off a Monday night slaughter and have a shortened week vs. the Browns. We see the Browns losing, but covering 21-10. Take the Browns and lay the 12.

Philly +2

The Eagles are in a good position to steal a road win away from the over hyped Bills. Yes, the Bills defense is legit and are top 10 in every defensive category, but the Eagles coming off an embarrassing loss should se the stage for a good game offensively from them. Jared Allen will have to prove if he can yet again beat an NFL defense at home as the Eagles are going to be fired up to try and win this one to save their season hopes. We know buffalo has been good this year, but this has a let down game written all over it. Take the Eagles +2 here as they edge out the Bills to send buffalo to 5-2. Philly 24-21.

BONUS PICK!!!

Cardinals +10.5 v. Saints

I know it’s not popular to pick against the Saints at home, but with Brees saying

he’s coming back to play after being injured in Week 2, I think he might be a

little rusty and his lack of practice time with his receivers should slow them

down a bit at least. As of today, Friday, it is unclear if he’s starting, but the

offense is giving snaps to both QB’s in practice, so it appears he’s ready. Patrick

Peterson is a big boost to the Cards defense and will likely match up against

Thomas all afternoon, which should keep this from being a blowout.

DEFENSES? WE DON’T NEED NO STINKING DEFENSES!

podcast-coop-mike

Coop and the mechanic are back talking to football and how defenses are effecting the betting landscape this year. Does home field really matter?!?!? We dive into what college games are big this week and give a freebie!!! Don’t forget to go to www.thelinebreakers.com to see who we take this weekend!

Defenses Week 7 NFL review.

What ever happened to the concept that championships were built on defenses?   Well I guess that jumped out the same window as home field advantage. ( Nine road teams won this week!)  The AFC has a losing record versus the NFC so that’s something to consider when evaluating your wagers.  Other interesting trends you can bank on too.  High scores.  Look at how many high scoring games there were, many in the 60’s and a whopping 72 points in the Vikings-Lions’ game!   (The Vikes supposedly have a good defense.) Only the Jets and Skins failed to score, but they both suck, so that’s not surprising.  Speaking of sucking, the Falcons have tossed in the towel after losing again at home by trading wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to the Pats the other day.  And if truth be told, I had some clunkers; including taking both the Giants and the Jets.  I knew I was in trouble when everyone was taking Jets and I was poised to cancel my bet but didn’t feel like paying the penalty….. boy do I wish I had.

I’m never again betting on either of the local football teams, what a disaster they both were.  After the Giants shit the bed on Sunday versus the Cardinals, I certainly didn’t expect the Jets to play worse, but they did.  They didn’t even show up, getting blown off the field 33-0 to the Pats.  That was hard to watch, and in fact, I did stop watching it after a while. Sam Darnold will forever have the “I’m seeing ghosts” comment attached to him if he fails as a Jets QB, much as Mark Sanchez is forever remembered as the “butt fumble” guy.  I said before that I thought he was being brought back too soon and the win over the Cowboys might prove to be an anomaly.  We’ll find out soon enough as they have three winnable games coming up.

The 4-3 Cowboys woke up Sunday night and spanked the Eagles who are now 3-4.  If the friggin’ Giants hadn’t spotted the Cards 17 points to start the game, they might be 3-4 too and only one game out of a division that’s ripe for the taking by anyone not named Washington.  I’m still surprised Dan Quinn still has a job in Atlanta after losing to the Rams at home, he’s gone very soon; especially since, as I said, they are 1-6 and already trading away good players.  That, and Matt Ryan’s injury is why half the Vegas books don’t have a line posted and some have moved from Seattle minus 3.5 to minus 7.  With an over/under off the board, stay tuned.  I love the under if its anywhere over 50.  Probably a parlay for me.  Oops, another free play!

The 6-0 49ers beat a lousy Skins team in Washington but only scored 9 points.  The Skins now go to Minnesota who have a surprisingly reinvigorated Cousins at QB, but once again another huge line of 16.5!  I’ve never seen such large lines in one season and only half-way through the season…..That’s right, I said half-way!  The NFL season always seems to fly by and this one is no different.  Some other huge lines are 13, 13 and 14.  That’s four games of 13 or higher!  Last week we warned about laying big points and the Dolphins were never not covering the 16.5 they were getting from the Bills. So guess what we’re picking?  Come see at TheLineBreakers.com., and some bonus picks.

Mahomes escaped a season ending injury with a dislocated kneecap, but that’s why Sunday night’s game versus Green Bay has them as a home dog.  Rodgers had his first perfect QB rating last week and the Rodgers stack in fantasy won all the big fantasy pools.

Baker Mayfield will probably look like Sam Darnold versus the Pats….  OK, that’s a bit harsh, no one can look that bad, but Belicheat is certainly licking his chops at the prospect of going after another turnover machine and this time at home.

Once again I’d like to remind you if you haven’t yet signed up to bet online, make sure to shop around for the best offers of matching deposits and reimbursement for lost first plays.  Another new sportsbook was announced today.  To make your choice easier, got to www.sportsbookreview.com which has ratings and features of 175 sports betting sites!  That’s right I said 175.  The competition is fierce for your money, so take advantage and make them pay for your account. Most are offering $100 to $500 to get your business.   (Over the past two nights I’ve taken FanDuel up on their $3 Bonus per point in the NBA, which pays you and extra $3 for each point your team wins by, the bonus alone paid me $42 bonus last night.)  Then visit us at TheLineBreakers.com for help making the right picks.  We have free bonus picks added too.

FREE PLAY THURSDAY  is Skins v. Vikes.  I like the Under 42 total tonight as the Skins have averaged on 8.4 points in last 5 games all while not giving up a ton of points in any of those games, the most being 33 to Pats.   Our Free Pick Thursday hit again last week taking the under in the Chiefs game and suggesting taking the Chiefs as well.  That’s a nice run of free play winners.

Take a look at TheLineBreakers.com, and subscribe, we have more content and a lower price.

Game of the week could be Cardinals v. Saints, that’s right, you heard me, the Cards v. Saints with Saints laying 10.5.  Why, because you have Brees coming back after sitting out since Week 2 and the Cards on a three game winning streak.  Both teams are 5-2 against the spread,…only the Colts are better at 4-1-1.    To see our pick visit TheLineBreakers.com for our very reasonably priced picks.  Other sites charge $40, $50 or more for one pick.  We give you 10-12 picks for half that!  That’s right folks, half that.  We also give you the analysis for each pick, so you can evaluate what we are focusing on and make an informed decision.

plays from 10/10-10/13

NFL and College football for 10/10-10/13

**BONUS PLAY AT BOTTOM**

College football

Penn state Nittany Lions-3

This is the game!! This is the game where Penn state comes out and really announces itself to the college football world. They have been beating teams by an average of 47-7. We see they are going into hostile territory but that is not changing our minds. They are both top 5 in scoring offense and scoring defense in the country. After Michigan laid out true blue print on how to stifle the Hawkeyes last week, we like the great Penn state defense to do the same. Pick Penn state and let’s grow your bank roll!!!

Notre Dame Fighting Irish  -11

The fighting Irish are playing their annual USC match up. This game takes place in South Bend where the Irish love playing infront of touchdown Jesus. The Irish have done Nortre Dane has won over 60% of their games as the home team against the spread since 2017 and are a perfect 3-0 this year. They play a ISC team that is missing their starting QB not to mention USC is 0-2 ATS this year on the road. Pick The fighting Irish and watch as they cash you this play!!!

Oklahoma Sooners  -10.5

The sooners and Jalen Hurts are on a mission this year. He is coming for those playoffs and nothing will stop him. This will be his heisman moment game, Lincoln Riley lives for these games and out coaching the opponents. Texas is good and has a great WB this year but they are missing those it factories that will help them get over the jump of this game. Take the sooners and watch as they boom(er) the Longhorns!!

Georgia Bulldogs/South Carolina game cocks over 53

This is a matchup that South Carolina waits for all year long. The South Carolina defense  is not great at all and won’t be able to stop he big play ability of Georgia’s offense. They have big plays all around the field with their stable of backs and Fromm distributing the ball around with great efficiency. We see the game cocks scoring in garbage time but most of the points will come from the Bulldogs. Play the over sbd let’s cash this ticket!!!

Virginia cavaliers +2.5

This is the week that Miami gets their season dagger. We talked about this on the LineBreakers podcast this week and we are sticking with our guns. Manny Diaz’s days are number at coral gables and this is the end of the end for his coaching days there. Miami is 1-2 this year ATS and we see that going to 1-3 after this Saturday’s game. Take Virginia and cash this ticket!!!

NFL

Rams -3 vs 49ers

Rams are coming off a tough divisional loss last Thursday night. They have had ten days to look at all the film and change things up for another big divisional game. The 49ers has a short week with them playing on Monday the 49ers are a good team and are coached well but this has become a game that the rams as a team have to win to keep a hold on the NFC West. Take the Rams at home and watch as they cash youthis ticket!!

Browns +1.5 vs Seattle

The browns have been inconsistent team this year and have really gone up and down in terms of play. They are coming off an embarrassing lose to the 49ers on Monday but at least they play at home this Sunday vs the Seahawks. The Seahawks have really put a lot of faith into Russel Wilson and as he goes so does their team. The Browns will come out hard and fast and be able to stifle Wilson and his scrambling acts. Take the Browns as the home underdog and watch as they grow your bank roll!!!

Vikings -3 v. Eagles

The Vikings have lots of weapons on offense and with a scheme that keeps Cousins from throwing INT’s, the weak Eagles defense should be outmatched.  The Vikes had an easy win against a similarly lousy D against Giants last week and although Eagles are better than Giants, they have some key injuries which will hurt them; especially on the road.  Both teams are 3-2, but the 3 points home field advantage should be overcome with a healthier Vikings team.

Texans v. Chiefs  over 55

Although this is the highest over/under on the board, I still see it being an over, as both of these teams have high powered offenses and both have defenses that are at some times nonexistent.  If Mahomes has recovered from his ankle injury, I look for them to bounce back from an uncharacteristically low scoring loss to the Colts last week. Houston has an equally potent offense and I think this will be a classic shoot out that easily goes over.

Atlanta v. Arizona over 44.5

The Falcons are probably the most disappointing team so far this year with a 1-4 record and 1-4 ATS.  With all the talent they have on offense it is mind-boggling how they have only one win so far, and the rumor mill has team owner Arthur Blank on the verge for canning head coach Quinn if the losing continues.  In fact, some are saying if they lose to the lowly Cardinals this week, he will be fired. I’m sure that if I am hearing these rumors, the Falcons players and coaches are hearing them too. Cardinals are coming off their first win versus the Bengals and the can score against a lousy Falcons defense that gave up 53 points last week.

BONUS PICK!!!

Cowboys -7 v. Jets

Even with Sam Darnold back at QB, I don’t see this being close.  Dallas has lost two in a row and must get back on track immediately, with Eagles coming to town next week.  The Jets have no offense, no defense and a clueless head coach. I think Elliot gets plenty of rushing yards and scoring after horrible totals last week.  Jets defense will be exposed again as they have been all year and a TD should be easy to cover while the Cowboys get healthy against one of the worst teams in the NFL.
